Retroactive Prayer

Since You are the infinite God above time and space, would You accept this particular prayer entry and make it retroactive? I think I was and perhaps still am somewhat, a little, distracted by my own distress this morning.

BUT~for Tue, please again show great grace in his bar exam. He said, and both Julie and I expected, that today's portion of the exam was more challenging. But You are greater! May Tue's uncertainty not reflect poor performance but only his humility. May You have chosen the correct answers for him, despite his second-guessing them. May the scorers be wise and gracious, not picky and irrational. (Having taken some of those tests, I know that some answers considered "correct "reflect questions that are vague and/or poorly worded.) Remember, God, that Tue made a bargain with You. Please hold him to it by being the source of his success. May he succeed for Your glory! In Jesus's wise name~~Amen

Bar Exam Anxiety

Dear Great God, giver of the Law with grace, this is more important than anything else I could be doing now.  Not Tue's bar exam, as important as that is, but Tue's heart and the ongoing battle for it.  Tue has said, probably foolishly, that it would be a miracle if he passed the exam on the first try and that he would believe in You if he did.

I don't pretend to know Your will, dear Lord, for his life--but I hope that this challenge is one You will take seriously.  You know that his heart is toward the poor and underprivileged, as Your heart is; You know that he has the most loving heart of almost anyone I know; You know that he is not one to be casual about his beliefs, commitments, and relationships.  Please don't consider me presumptuous about asking for this great favor.  It really is not just for Tue's benefit, but for Yours as well--in fact, for Your benefit even more!

Would You also give him rest tonight?  Please help him to sleep deeply and refreshingly.    May he go into the exam with confidence not only in himself but in You, though he may not know You well yet.  May he pass this exam on the first try, giving You glory.  May You use this experience to knock on his door, reminding him of the "promise" he made.  In Jesus's name, Who came to fulfill all the law~~Amen.
